ROMA de Alfonso Cuarón y Yalitza Aparicio se han convertido en el tema favorito de los amantes del cine en esta temporada de premios. Desde su estreno en México, la cinta ha sido señalada como una de las más fuertes contendientes para darle al país otro par de estatuillas doradas. De hecho, la película se perfila como la ganadora en la categoría de Mejor Película Extranjera y Mejor Director en la próxima entrega del Oscar, hazaña que ya consiguió en los Globos de Oro 2019.
A estas alturas el mundo entero sabe que el nombre de la cinta hace referencia al barrio de la Ciudad de México donde Cuarón creció y se desarrolla todo esta historia. Sin embargo, nunca falta el despistado que manifieste lo contrario. Fue el caso de la conductora de televisión Galilea Montijo, quien hace unos meses, durante la emisión del programa Hoy, cometió el error de preguntar si la película llevaba ese título por la ciudad de Roma, en Italia.
Los fans de Cuarón no se lo perdonaron y al día de hoy continúan burlándose de ella con una amplia galería de memes.
Recientemente, luego de la increíble victoria de la cinta en los Globos de Oro, el error de Galilea volvió a salir a la luz en Hoy. Montijo aprovechó el espacio para enviar un mensaje a todos sus haters.
«Gracias, yo quiero agradecer al público conocedor, a los cinéfilos, los críticos de cine. No, es en serio, muchas gracias por tomarse el tiempo de hacer tanto meme de algo que pasó hace como ocho meses, cuando la estúpida de mí, no supo de qué se trataba la película porque apenas la estaban presentando en Venecia (Italia)», dijo.
«Hasta el día de hoy, muy pocos mexicanos hemos visto Roma. Ya tuve la oportunidad de verla, ahora sí sé que se trata de la ‘Colonia punto Roma’, pero hace ocho meses la neta (la verdad) no lo sabía, pero lo que sí agradezco infinitamente es la cantidad de memes, hacerme Trending Topic el día de ayer, me siento una persona sumamente importante, voy a seguir diciendo estupideces», agregó.
